Position: Field Services Technician
Location: Grand Junction, CO
Type: Temporary to Regular Full Time
Wage: $15-$17/hour
Shift: multiple shifts available

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Program Manager

Provides non-technical support to the implementation and completion of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of field service activities primarily for clients in the oil and gas industry, but also in a variety of environments and with varying construction installation detailed requirements and conditions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform a variety of tasks utilizing strenuous manual labor in the installation and removal of netting material and all other field service activities.
  • Utilize rock bars and sledgehammers to install/ remove stakes to and from the ground.
  • Repetitive sew of netting and tie-wiring. Pulling large sections of netting cross cabling.
  • Manually pack concrete bags and poles for long distances, mixing concrete.
  • Dig with shovels, picks, and rock bars in rocky terrain.
  • Work in and around confined and slippery and wet spaces.
  • Consistently climbing up and down ladders.
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Support and adhere to company policies and procedures.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in basic field service activities and construction work.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a crew to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under sometimes adverse field conditions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.


EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school Diploma or GED. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Prior construction experience preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.


ENVIRONMENT:
  • Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and exposure to dust, and potential oil and gas particulates.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. Requires repeated hand motion.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to and including 85lbs for long distances.
  • Willingness to regularly work 10-12-hour days due to project requirements.
  • Willing to work and ride in proximity with crew members for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
