Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Grand Junction, CO
Type: Full Time
Wage: $13.03-$19.45/hr
Must be Covid-19 Vaccinated
Job Summary: Assists Dentist with basic dental procedures, including, but not limited to the preparation of dental examination room and equipment, patient preparation, radiographic set-up and development, and chair side procedural assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize and generally organize dental operatory and laboratory areas.
  • Properly bag and dispose of contaminated wastes and supplies
  • Performs limited hygiene services of child prophys
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and maintenance of dental records
  • Oversight of general care and maintenance of dental equipment and supplies. Cleaning of Autoclaves.

Responsible to keep sterilization area updated

  • Assist with inventory control measures and process
  • Responsible for charting requirements, caries risk assessment, crown & bridge, root canal and denture procedures
  • Perform coronal polish for both adults and children, night guard delivery, take alginate impressions and pour up models
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and maintenance of dental records in paper or electronic form
  • Schedule Dental appointments
  • Be available to help any other Dental provider when it is needed.
  • A DA I is Responsible for accurate completion of X-ray process
  • Assist Dentist(s) chair side and participate in creating and explaining Dental treatment plans
  • Perform analysis of clinical operations with the Dental Manager to continually update process flows to ensure effective and efficient delivery of care
  • Assist the QI department in all HRSA requirements
  • Comply with all OSHA, HIPAA and BLS Policies and procedures
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned by the supervisor

Education / Experience

High School diploma is preferred but not required.

  • One year of Dental experience is preferred. The dental clinic is willing to train a suitable candidate if the individual has no experience.

Preferred Credentials
  • Certification from an accredited college/program preferred.
